Turquoise Scarab Faience Cuff

This turquoise blue flying scarab encircles your wrist with its silver wings . Amulets in the shape of scarab beetles were used in Egypt as symbols of life and protection. They were often made of faience where the bright blue color increased the life-giving potency of the magic.

Details 

The detail of the sterling silver wing was carved in wax and then cast.  To keep the integrity of the casting we then soldered a sheet of sterling silver to the inside of the cuff.  The faience scarab in the center is a one-of-a-kind piece with individual detail.  To read more about the making of faience please read here.
